Cookies

In order for this website to work properly, we sometimes need to put small files on your computer, so-called cookies.

What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your computer or mobile device when you visit that site. In this way, the website remembers the pages you have visited and your preferences (such as username, language, font size and other preferences) so that you do not have to re-enter them each time you visit the site.

On some pages we register in cookies:

Your display preferences, such as contrast colour and font size
if you have already answered a survey about our site (so we don’t ask you again)
whether or not you agree to the use of cookies on our site
Some videos on our site also use a cookie to compile anonymous statistics about how you found that video and what videos you watched. This website also works without cookies, but cookies make it more user-friendly. You can delete or block cookies, but some parts of the site will then not work (properly). The information collected by cookies is not used to identify you and we do not share the statistics with third parties. These cookies are also not used for purposes other than those described above.

Google Analytics

Through our website, a cookie is placed by the U.S. company Google, as part of the “Analytics” and “Search Console” service. We use this service to track and get reports on how visitors use the website. Google may provide this information to third parties if Google is legally required to do so, or if third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. We have no influence on this. We have allowed/not allowed Google to use the obtained analytics information for other Google services.

The information that Google collects is anonymized as much as possible. Your IP address is explicitly not given. The information is transferred to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google adheres to the Safe Harbor principles and is affiliated with the Safe Harbor program of the U.S. Department of Commerce. This means that there is an adequate level of protection for the processing of any personal data”.

Social Media Buttons

“Our website includes buttons to promote (“like”) or share (“tweet”) web pages on social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. These buttons work by means of bits of code that originate from Facebook and Twitter respectively. Cookies are placed by means of this code. We have no influence on this. Please read the privacy statement of Facebook or Twitter (which may change regularly) to read what they do with your (personal) data that they process via these cookies.

“The information they collect is made anonymous as much as possible. The information is transferred to and stored by Twitter, Facebook, Google + and LinkedIn on servers in the United States. LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Google + adhere to the Safe Harbor principles and are affiliated with the Safe Harbor program of the U.S. Department of Commerce. This means that there is an adequate level of protection for the processing of any personal data”.

Tracking Cookies

In some cases, we may place “tracking cookies” on your computer. We use these cookies to track which pages you visit in order to build a profile of your online behaviour. This profile is only linked to your e-mail address if it is known to us. This allows us to send you emails that are relevant, so that we can be sure that we will not send spam to you. We will never share the information we collect with third parties. For more information, please see our Privacy Policy.
